We’re putting together a dream team and these 7 players were our first picks

It’s that time of year again, we’re almost a quarter of the way through the season and people are starting to discuss MVP awards, Pro Bowl invites, and even their fantasy playoff teams.

This is a great time of year to put on a bet on who you think is going to win one of those awards and you can do it at Fanduel.com.

Here are 7 players that have caught our eye this year.

1. Aaron Rodgers

None of you are surprised to see Aaron Rodgers on this list. Over the last 5 years, Rodgers has made a serious claim for the title of greatest quarterback of all time. Rodgers was Brett Favre’s understudy for three years but has since really made a name for himself.

Rodgers is a 3-time NFL MVP. Last year he led the league in passing completions, passing touchdowns, passer rating, touchdown percentage, and the lowest interception rating. With stats like that, you’d be crazy not to include this man in your 2024 dream team.

2. Russel Wilson

In the last three weeks, Russel Wilson broke Payton Manning’s record – he became the fastest ever quarterback to get 100 victories. Beating Payton Manning at anything is a huge achievement. He was also the fastest quarterback to win a Super Bowl. He was also the first African American quarterback to start in multiple Super Bowls.

Yes, Wilson has been playing in the NFL for nearly 10 years now, but he is only getting better and he is breaking more NFL records every season. He is one of only 4 quarterbacks to have a passer rating of over 100.

3. Derrick Henry

When someone is named Offensive Player of the Year, of course, we are going to pay very close attention to them. Derrick Henry led the league in rushing touchdowns, rushing yards, and attempts for the LAST TWO SEASONS.

Henry had a difficult start to his NFL career. He played backup to DeMarco Murray for two years. During the 2018 summer season, the Titans had a change of backroom staff and decided to focus more on throwing and rushing than before.

This change created room for Henry to start showing off his talent and, well, the rest is history.

4. Aaron Donald

In our humble opinion, Aaron Donald is one of the most underrated players in the NFL. Yes, he is a 3-time Defensive Player of the Year and he won Rookie of the Year in 2014. Yes, he has played in the Pro Bowl every year since he joined the NFL. But, how often do you see him being talked about online? Not enough is the answer to that question.

Donald had another incredible season in 2024 – he started every game, he racked up 15.5 sacks last year, and he made over 26 solo tackles. As a result, he was named Defensive Player of the Year for the third time in four years.

Of course, he is being picked for this dream team!

5. Chase Young

Defensive End Chase Young won the Defensive Rookie of the Year title in 2024 and it was well deserved. We think he was robbed of the overall Rookie of the Year title. He was the first Washington Football Team player ever to be named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month, in December of 2024.

Last year he racked up 30 solo tackles and 15 sacks. He forced 4 fumbles and even had one touchdown from a fumble.

6. T. J. Watt

We need an outside linebacker on our dream team and T J Watt is the obvious choice in that position. He is the highest paid defensive player in the league for a reason. He also has two very talented brothers that we did consider for this team.

Watt had already racked up 2 sacks by the end of Week 1 this year and after three games he now has 5. And we thought his 15 across the whole season last year was impressive. Last year he was the league leader in sacks, tackles for loss (TFL), and quarterback hits.

7. Davante Adams

Davante Adams is the best wide receiver in the game right now – he was a must pick for our dream team. If you need convincing of this go and watch last year’s Week 16 match (Packers vs Titans). In that match, you will see Adam score three touchdowns and 5 catches for 142 yards in the middle of very heavy snowfall.

Any player that can play that well in those conditions deserves a spot on every single dream team list. Adams and Rodgers have also been playing incredibly together over the last few years.

Honorable mention – Tom Brady

As long as Tom Brady is playing, we will feel inclined to put him on our dream team. The man knows how to play football, his awards cabinet says it all.

When you have the option to pick a 7-time Super Bowl champion and 14 time Pro Bowl player, you pick that player.

This year, we have so many incredible quarterbacks playing across the league. So many that it was really hard to narrow it down to just two quarterbacks on our list.

Honorable mention – Patrick Mahomes

Trading Alex Smith to the Washington Football Team was probably the best thing the Chiefs ever did. Moving Smith out of the team gave them a chance to play the breathtakingly talented Patrick Mahomes.

In his first year as starting quarterback, Mahomes really blew everyone away. Watching him play, it’s hard to believe that he was ever a second choice to anybody.

If Mahomes was a little older and a little more experienced than he would have had a spot on this list, there’s no doubt about that. If he keeps playing like he is then expect to see him on the list next year.
