A former bodyguard of rapper Kanye West, Steve Stanulis, has revealed how the famous musician lives, but also his wife, Kim Kardashian. In an interview for the “Hollywood Raw” podcast, Stanulis, a former police officer, revealed ridiculous rules he had to follow and what made West the worst client he has had.
The bodyguard said that the rapper ranted at him on the first day of their collaboration because Stanulis did not know which button to press in the elevator in the studio where he made clothes for his fashion brand. West yelled at him because, at that moment, he thought Stanulis was completely unprepared.
“I was supposed to meet him at the studio. When he gets there, we get into the elevator, and he’s like, ‘Aren’t you going to push what floor we’re going to?’ I said, ‘I have no idea, it’s my first day.’ So he starts ranting: ‘So you mean you didn’t call ahead to find out where I’m supposed to be going?’ I said no, so he’s ranting and raving”, Stanulis recalled.
The bodyguard then gave the rapper three options. “One, you could tell me what button to press, and now I’ll know. Two, you could press the button, and I’ll see which one you press, and then I’ll know, or three, you can sit in here all day and tell me how important your time is and we are not going to go anywhere. And again, that was our first interaction”, Stanulis said in an interview, noting that such situations were quite common.
Kayne required him to always walk ten paces behind him, which made his job extremely difficult because he was too far away in case anything happened. He rated the rapper as his worst client and said that he was terribly demanding and did not give good tips. The bodyguard says he would never work for him again, Daily Mail wrote.
He also commented on the robbery in Paris in 2016 and said that Kanye did not allow him to approach him and Kim, they were never in the same taxi while they were traveling, and he was not allowed to sit with them at the same table while they had dinner.
Stanulis has worked with a number of stars, and his favorite client is Tobey Maguire, who he says is one of the best people he has ever met. He loved working with Alanis Morissette, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck.
