The police issued arrest warrants for NFL stars DeAndre Baker and Quinton Dunbar. The New York Giants cornerback and the Seattle Seahawks cornerback are wanted by police in connection to an armed robbery investigation, according to Miramar Police.
DeAndre Baker is facing “four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm,” Aceshowbiz reports. Quinton Dunbar is wanted on four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
The two footballers were reportedly involved in the incident Thursday morning, which began on a party night before. The athletes were playing cards and video games when an argument started, and Baker whipped out a semi-automatic firearm, TMZ reports.
The two then started to rob party guests, where Dunbar assisted Baker in taking watches and other valuables. According to the police reports, Baker ordered the third man to shoot someone who had just walked into the party, but luckily, no one was shot.
The footballers allegedly left with more than $7.000 in cash, and expensive watches, such as $18.000 Rolex and $25.000 Hublot. However, it is not known exactly whether Dunbar was armed or not, because there are conflicting reports from the witnesses.
Some of them told cops that they believe that the robbery was planned, because after the incident, they got away in three cars – a Lamborghini, a Mercedes Benz and a BMW, which were “strategically positioned to “expedite an immediate departure”.
According to the police report, Baker and Dunbar had lost around $70.000 at a party while playing in high-stakes card games a couple a day ago in Miami. They are currently working on a planned surrender. “We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with Deandre. We have no further comment at this time”, the Giants said in a statement regarding the arrest warrant for their player DeAndre Baker.
