If more money doesn’t bring you happiness, it definitely brings you more options. That includes the option to reject money, as this story about Michael Jordan proving “no” to a $100 million deal that would have only taken two hours of his time, CNN reports. Yes, the NBA legend himself is so demanding about what he wants to do with his time and where he wants to make money.
To be fair to the former Chicago Bulls player, $100 million must feel like a pocket change. As previously reported here, Jordan’s net worth is around $ 2.1 billion in 2024. A lot of that comes from his previous NBA earnings, but he also makes money from his sneaker lines with Nike and his investments as an owner of the Charlotte Hornets as well as his liquor company.
He is a busy man who does not necessarily need an additional $100 million. But as this story progresses, Jordan may need to relax when it comes to how he makes his cash, because two hours of work for $100 million is not so bad.
Michael Jordan didn’t think this particular event was worth it

He said he brought Jordan the $100 deal. which involved, in addition to giving his name and likeness, a two-hour appearance to announce the agreement.
“God bless him,” added Falk. “He has been so successful that it gives him the opportunity to do what he wants or not to do things he doesn’t want to do. I really admire it. He is very, very selective about the things he wants to get involved in. ” Other than that, he didn’t give any other details about the deal or who he was with, but Jordan didn’t think it was worth it.
As reported by CBS Sports, Falk also said in the interview that this was not the only time that Jordan turned down a fat check for too little work. Apparently, he also turned down $ 7 million that would have required him to appear at a one-day golf tournament in Asia. That kind of makes senses though: $ 7 million probably barely covers the gas for a trip to the other side of the world in Jordan’s Gulfstream G-IV. Not to mention jet lag.

Jordan has five children: Jeffrey, 31, Marcus, 29, and Jasmine, 27, who he had with his first wife, Juanita Vanoy, and twins Victoria and Ysabel with his current wife Yvette Prieto Jordan.
It was Marcus who uploaded on Twitter, retweeting a news article about David Falk’s interview with Boomer and Gio on WFAN and remarking, “¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He added that he could have “refined” the money if he had told his father that it was a big event he was running and that he needed his pops to “slip”.
Marcus also knows a lot about it. Jordan’s second-oldest son played NCAA at the University of Central Florida, where he controversially dressed his father’s Air Jordans despite the team’s association with Adidas, as reported by Complex. Obviously, when you are the GOAT (and the son of the GOAT), you can do whatever you want when it comes to making some money. It must be nice.
