The House Speaker Nancy Pelosi joined others in trolling Donald Trump for taking hydroxychloroquine to protect against coronavirus. The president told reporters on Monday that he has been taking the malaria drug with zinc supplement “for about a week and a half now” to “block the virus”, even though it is against the FDA warnings.

Pelosi expressed her concerns over this statement in the “Anderson Cooper 360” interview. She said she would prefer Trump to avoid hydroxychloroquine due to his “age group” and “weight group”.

“He’s our president, and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists. Especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group, morbidly obese, they say”, Pelosi said.

This drug has serious side effects, among which are severe heart problems, but that doesn’t scare the president. “All I can tell you is, so far I seem to be OK”, he told reporters.

Trump started taking the drug after he received a letter from a doctor about the anti-malaria drug’s benefits, AceShowBiz reports. “He said out of hundreds of people that he’s treated he hasn’t lost one. If it doesn’t work, you’re not going to get sick or die. It’s been heavily tested, ” Trump said, and he admitted that his doctor didn’t recommend that medicine to him.

People immediately started dragging Trump on social media. “Whew, I knew The Simpson’s were never wrong. Keep on taking it, Trump,” one wrote, and another added: “Let him take it and with a cold glass of Clorox.”

“He’s lying. How are you taking a drug for two weeks that was originally designed for lupus as a preventive method, and you dont have lupus. His doctor’s license needs to be reviewed”, one social media user concluded.
