Angelina Jolie played her first role at the age of seven, but her relationship with colleague Brad Pitt overshadowed her acting career.
The former couple met on the set of the action-comedy “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and fell in love, and Brad divorced Jennifer Aniston in 2005 because of it. The couple was nicknamed Brangelina by the public, and during a 10-year relationship, they got a daughter Shiloh (14) and twins Knox and Vivienne (11). Also, Pitt and Jolie adopted Maddox (18), Pax (16) and Zahara (15).
Their love seemed harmonious and seemed to last, but the quarrels began after they got married in 2014. Just two years later, they divorced and then fought over custody.
By the way, Angelina started her acting career at the age of seven next to her father, Jon Voight, in the movie “Lookin ‘to Get Out”. Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was also an actress, and she died in January 2007 at the age of 56 after a long battle with ovarian and breast cancer. Her sister and mother died of the same disease.
Mastectomy and charity work
Jolie, therefore, decided to undergo a mastectomy, i.e., the removal of both breasts. After a genetic test showed that Angelina has an 87 percent chance of getting cancer, she decided to reduce that risk primarily for children’s sake. “Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy. I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex”, the actress explained. Despite the courageous and challenging surgery, Jolie is still, unfortunately, at high risk of getting cancer.
Angelina is very dedicated to the children, of whom she has six, and she herself pointed out that she does make a difference between the ones she has adopted and the one she has given birth to. She is known as a great humanitarian and promotes laudable things like education, women’s rights, refugees’ protection, and aid to African countries.
The actress is often considered one of the most influential people in the American entertainment industry, and she was often on the lists of the most beautiful women in the world. But in recent years, she has worried the public with her excessive thinness.
Her love life and family
In addition to Pitt, she was married to two other actors. She was married for three years to Jonny Lee Miller, 47, who is known for his role as Sherlock Holmes in the series “Elementary.” That’s also how long her marriage to 20-years older Billy Bob Thornton lasted. The couple shocked the public when they carried each other’s blood in bottles around their necks.
Angelina also shocked the public by kissing in the mouth with her older brother, producer, and actor James Haven Voight (47). While she adores her brother, Jolie has not always been on good terms with her father, Jon. She resents him for leaving her family when she was only one year old and that her mother Marceline, had to raise her and James without Jon’s financial support.
Angelina was very close to her mother and said that they were like friends. Because of her, Jolie started her modeling career at the age of 11 and was the face of the cosmetics company Guerlain. Jon once said in public that his daughter has mental problems, and they have reportedly pretty much smoothed out their disagreements in recent years, so they go to dinners together and sometimes hang out.
Jolie is also known for her love of snakes, which she had as pets. She also loves tattoos, which she allegedly has 14.
