The Hollywood actor John Cusack shared on Twitter short videos of riots that were taking place at the streets of Chicago Saturday night.
As some demonstrated violently, setting cars on fire and robbing shops, large numbers of police forces were sent onto the streets. John was filming demonstrations with his cell phone, when, he claims, police officers approached him and ordered to stop recording.
According to the 53-year-old star, they hit the bicycle with a “baton” and damaged it, and when he expressed his disagreement, he also got tear gas in his eyes.
After the incident, John shared a video of the entire event he managed to record, more with sound than image. It shows a policeman yelling at him, “Get out of here! Go, move!”, and then a “baton” is heard hitting the bicycle, after which the actor is heard answering: “All right, all right, all right”.
Cops didn’t like me filming the burning car so they came at me with batons. Hitting my bike.

The “High Fidelity” star previously shared several more videos of store robberies and car arson he shot in Chicago, in which a ban on moving through the streets after 9 pm was imposed.
“Many of police I talked to last night – understood rage of the protestors & did their best to deescalate during day & into night – But After perimeter was set around trump tower & bridges raised -it got so fearful and violent – the dynamic changed rapidly into chaos”, he wrote next to the recordings, warning that it would become “even worse”.

The riots began after the death of George Floyd, an African-American man. The police officer pressed his knee against his neck, and despite George telling him he couldn’t breathe, he didn’t loosen his grip until the man died. It provoked great outrage from the public, but also from many celebs who expressed dissatisfaction with the problem of racism in the United States.
