This episode is incredibly funny. Christina Applegate’s first appearance as Rachel’s other sister, Amy, is definitely unforgettable. Also appearing in another episode, her acting earned her nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. Her character constantly fails to call Emma by the right name, and her lack of filter in everything she says is simply hilarious. In addition, her indignation when discovering she wouldn’t get Emma if Ross and Rachel were to die served as an unforgettable moment. This can easily be ranked as one of the best episodes.
This episode is amazing but not so much for the reason the episode is named after. The reason of why this episode is on the top 10 list is because of Phoebe’s predicament. Phoebe finds herself wanting to go to Sting’s concert which was sold out. However, she then finds out that Sting’s child goes to school with Ross’ son, Ben. She convinces Ross to use his connection to get tickets, but Ross says that Sting’s son is not friends with Ben. So, Phoebe tries to make amends with Sting’s wife so she can get tickets or at least meet Sting. The whole shenanigan is simply hilarious and when she tries to convince Ross, it elicits nothing short of hysterical laugher. The whole episode is comedic gold.

In this episode, Monica and Chandler have the idea to invest in lottery tickets since Chandler quit his job. All the friends decide to join except Ross, who is skeptical about the lottery. As the episode goes on, they all get quite competitive with each other, and when Phoebe tries to calm things down, she drops the tickets over the balcony. By far the best part of the episode is when Phoebe tries to apologize to the gang as a pigeon made her drop the tickets. This episode is truly iconic.
I think this one speaks for itself. We all know Ross can be quite temperamental, but it always gives us some great laughs. In this episode, Ross is going through a rough patch with Emily. With Thanksgiving happening, the only thing he is looking forward to is his anticipated leftover sandwich. This sandwich, which is the only thing that is giving him a reason to wake up to every morning, gets stolen at work. When he finds out at work who was the culprit, things escalate quickly. Being overdramatic has never been so funny.
In this episode, Ross has a function where he invites the gang, but when he comes to Monica’s apartment to gather everyone and leave, he sees no one is ready. The whole episode consists of Ross hurrying everyone up and things get out of control between Chandler and Joey fighting. Phoebe stains her dress, Monica obsesses over Richard, and Rachel gets mad because Ross yells at her. The best part of the episode is when Joey tries to get back at Chandler for hiding his underwear by wearing all of his clothes. Joey claims this is the opposite and starts acting like Chandler. This is one of Joey’s best moments.
I think we Friends fans can say that every time we go out to eat sushi or sea food and see the word “unagi”, we automatically think of this episode. It is impossible for me to see that word and not think of Ross. Nothing is funnier than seeing Ross being stubborn and Phoebe and Rachel trying to prove him otherwise. Classic.
Although the episode’s name has to do with Phoebe’s situation in the episode, the iconic part in this one is Ross, Rachel, and Chandler’s situations. I’ll describe it with one word: PIVOT! If you are a Friends fan, you can’t deny this is one of the best moments in the series all together.
This episode is one for the books. We all know that Monica and Chandler’s relationship started out as a secret. So when the gang started finding out one by one, each reaction was funnier than the other. The best reaction though, was Phoebe’s. She witnesses Chandler and Monica getting undressed from Ross’ new apartment and the whole moment is priceless. “My eyes!!!!” Hilarious.
Although Phoebe accepting to be his brother’s surrogate is a huge moment in this episode, another big scene is when Chandler and Joey get into a bet with Monica and Rachel about who knows more about each other. Things escalate quickly when Monica bets their apartment, and well, things don’t go as planned.
I think any fan or just any person who has watched Friends can agree this is the best episode of all time. When Ross finds about Rachel and Joey dating, the whole process of his reaction is simply, wow. Hilarious does not begin to describe it. So when Ross invites them over for a double date with his new girlfriend, Charlie, who used to be Joey’s girlfriend, things get awkward. Margaritas, fajitas, exes, what could go wrong?
As you have seen, Friends is clearly a classic. And if you haven’t hopped on this train, what are you waiting for? I guarantee this will make you laugh, cry, and feel all the feels with these amazing characters. The entire show is on Netflix so you have no excuse! Do yourself a favor and go watch this show.
