Selecting a college that is the best fit is an important task. It ultimately determines the people and environment you’ll be spending your time at for the next four years or so. There are many reasons to pick a university, whether it’d because of their academics programs, location, or the opportunities that it can offer.
Penn State is ranked in the top 100 universities world-wide on multiple ranking sites. Even just in the United States alone, the Pennsylvania State University is tied for number 52 in 2018, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges Ranking.”
The University Park campus is beautiful all-year round; from the colorful autumn leaves to the elegant blossoming of the spring flowers. In addition, there are many iconic places to see and take pictures at on campus, such as Old Main, the WeAre statue, the Arboretum and the Nittany Lion Shrine. Best of all, we are home of the famous Berkey Creamery. Nothing is more beautiful than fresh, homemade ice cream.

Penn State has the largest alumni association in the United States and one of the largest in the world. It’s a great way to network and help you find a job in the future.
The athletics programs at Penn State are very well-established and greatly admired by many across the nation. Penn State’s University Park campus has thirty-one NCAA Division I teams, such as the men’s ice hockey, men’s wrestling, men and women’s volleyball and, of course, the football team.
When it comes to the community that surrounds Penn State, the feeling is indescribable. I think that a big part of community is driven by our school pride and desire to be a part of something greater than ourselves. It makes up who we are and “We Are Penn State.”
Sorry, that was a little corny. But just come to one of the football games and you’ll know what I mean about school spirit.
Growing up, I was a really active person. I did things like basketball, skiing, gymnastics, band, yearbook club, honor societies, martial arts, etc. But I enjoy traveling and learning about history (I know, you’re probably thinking “Well that’s boring”). Although I can be active, I also just like simply just watching Netflix or something.
