I met up with the Bay Area rapper on Smokepurpp’s Monster Outbreak Tour stop at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club, along with Larry’s manager, Zack Doncovio (@zackdoncovio).
Tamara: Give me a little run down. Who’s Larry June?
Larry June: You know Larry June is the healthiest n**** in the rap game. You know what I’m saying? Good job Larry, sock it to me.

AG Brizzle & Lil Baby Have a “Whole Lot” for the World to Hear: Listen
What’s the earliest memory of you making music or being interested in music, or pursuing it as a career?
Man, since I was a youngin’. I dropped my first mixtape when I was like 15, ever since then I’ve been on my shit. In 2015 I dropped song called Glock 40, and from there I just kept pushing.
Where do you take more influence from, San Francisco or Atlanta?
Both, mutual. A lot of vibes from ATL, a lot of vibes from Frisco. Its different tempos, and different subject and lifestyles. So when you mix it together, you got Larry June.
So you got a lot of music out. What do you want people to take from “You’re Doing Good?”
I want people to believe in themselves. One thing I’ve learned is, if nobody believes in you, who gives a fuck? As long as you know that you doing good, then you doing good. So you’re doing good.
What do you do when you’re not making music?
A ride my bike, go hiking, run outside, go to whole foods. Bust down organic salads and shit. You know what i’m sayin, very peaceful.
Who do you think has the best adlibs? You can include yourself.
Me. Good Job Larry.
Anyone comes close second?
No. Sock it to me.
Tell me about your appreciation for organic products. Why are you so healthy?
When you’re healthy your mind stays healthy, you know what I’m sayin’? We need all organic shit. We need clean food, you only got one body to take care of.
I went to whole foods today before the show.
So when are you going to open an orange farm?
Next week. I’m starting on that right now.
Is that how fast oranges grow?
Well that’s when I’m starting the conversation with my connect in Orange County. Real talk.
Wait for real?
Yeah real talk!
Oh word! Okay, dope. I got one more question. What song best describes where you’re at in life right now?
“So Organic,” I got a new song called so organic on my new tape. That’s my most recent song and I make music about my recent situations and what I go through in life, so I think for today, it’s “So Organic.”
