Are you finding yourself stuck in Tallahassee taking summer classes? Are you driving yourself nuts because you find nothing to do on these summer days? Well, I might just have some tips for you. Here are 10 things you can do to entertain yourself until you get back home.
Although we are all anxious enough waiting for football season to start, we often take for granted the awesome baseball team Florida State has. During summer, the baseball team is still finishing their season, so head out to Dick Howser Stadium and enjoy the ball game in the friendliest environment of all. Plus, the food is great!
Lake Ella is a great place to have picnics. But if you did not know, on Thursdays, you can enjoy a delightful evening listening to live bands and enjoying local food trucks from 6 pm to 9 pm.

One of my favorite things that the FSU campus has to offer is the ASLC. You can find movie screenings, trivia contests, game nights, and many more fun activities. You can also find the Grindhouse which has to offer Lucky Goat coffee and delicious pastries.
If you love a good Happy Hour deal, then what are you waiting for to visit Township at College Town. On Thursdays, they have their famous “Flip the Ship”, where you order a drink from their selected menu and flip a coin to see if you pay or not. That’s 50/50 chance you might drink for free!
Since we are speaking of Happy Hour, you might find this useful. The city of Tallahassee has to offer a Trolley where you hop on and get to tour Midtown, College Town, and Downtown, all for free! It works Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am and it stops on all of your favorite restaurants and bars.
If you haven’t been to the Rez because you always find yourself busy during Fall or Spring, then Summer is the perfect time for visiting. You can rent a canoe, a kayak, a paddle board, etc. You can have a picnic or even climb up their rock wall! The options are endless!
If you appreciate museums and local artists like I do, then you can’t miss this museum. It is a great activity for a rainy day and you get to appreciate some culture.
If you find yourself bored and have a few bucks to spend, then thrift shopping is the activity for you. There are at least three Goodwills in the area, so there are plenty of things to look at. You will always find something interesting!
This place has amazing stores, antique shops, a yoga studio, great restaurants and even Proof Brewery is located there. And on the first Friday of every month, local bands perform and once again, you can find Tallahassee’s best local food trucks.
If you like supporting local businesses and eating a good doughnut, head out to this new doughnut shop! They offer creative and delicious doughnut and pastries. Plus, it is a great place to study if you find your average library to boring.
Now you do not have an excuse to sit around all day complaining that there is nothing to do. Most of these activities are offered all year round, but since we find ourselves very busy either in the Fall or Spring semester, Summer is the perfect time to enjoy any of these activities!
