Larry June: The Healthiest Guy in the Rap Game (Interview)
A very basic superhero flick, but good nevertheless. There isn’t anything glaringly wrong with the film, but nothing outstandingly good either.
The movie that started it all and a good one at that. There is a lot of hate and love for this movie online, nonetheless this is a solid film. Robert Downey Jr. carries the story and lifts it to the number 9 slot.
A sequel that largely improves on the original. The introduction of new characters like Falcon breathe some life into this action film and make it better than the first movie.
Like Winter Soldier, this film improves greatly upon its predecessor. Marvel stopped playing it completely safe with their movies around the time of this movie’s release. Without spoiling, the risks taken in this movie make it much more memorable than the first Avenger film.
A fun soundtrack, a fun cast of characters, and still plenty of action to go around make this one of the more fun and memorable movies. It is also a treat to see Kurt Russell enter the Marvel cinematic universe.
In my opinion, this is the best incarnation of Spiderman. Tom Holland kills it as Peter Parker and gives a very realistic portrayal to the character. The film is very fun but still has some darker themes to it. It also forgoes a lot of the Spiderman-backstory exposition that is found in the other Spider man movies, greatly increasing the quality of the pacing.
Perhaps the most fun movie in the entire series, this one felt more like an Avengers movie than the first two did. It is a very fun film, but outclassed by movies that are both amusing and have artistic quality.
In my opinion, this is the most important movie in the entire franchise. This is where they started adding more art direction, taking more risks, and generally targeting a more “mature” audience. The film also starts the trend of being more character driven rather than relying on some silly contrived plot. Chris Pratt absolutely kills it in the film and becomes a stand out addition to the universe.
This film takes everything that was good with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and improves upon it. In addition to the amazing art direction and soundtrack, Kill Monger becomes one of the best characters to ever grace the screens for Marvel. I’d consider this the best film, but the actual lead actor, the Black Panther, still seems to still be a very bland character.
Wow. The first two Thor movies are absolutely rubbish, but this one completely flips the formula around to make not just a good superhero movie, but a great movie in general. This film easily has the best art direction I have ever seen in a superhero movie. The colors in this film are provocative and memorable. Chris Hemsworth greatly improves upon the Thor character and actually makes him funny and interesting. The cast of side characters introduced are also very funny. A perfect blend of comedy and action, with a very dark story at play makes this the best Marvel movie in my opinion.
I am a senior at Binghamton University with a double major in Cinema and Comparative Literature. In my junior year of college I studied abroad in London. I am an avid film watcher and my favorite film is John Carpenter’s The Thing.
