Bane’s World is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who just happened to appear on my Spotify Discover Weekly the other day. All of his songs have been on shuffle ever since.
This Californian, formally known as Shane Blanchard, musically emulates his roots; his sound is reminiscent of a relaxing day at the beach. The Boston weather is so rubbish right now… I know we could all do with a bit of sweet heat!

AG Brizzle & Lil Baby Have a “Whole Lot” for the World to Hear: Listen
He first came on the Soundcloud scene in three years ago. His first available track on the app is titled “PAST DAYS (DEMO).” The single is very seventies and psychedelic, like his other work, yet Bane’s World is much more vocally shy. If you start from his oldest tunes and progress to his most recent, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Bane’s World gives off an immense hopeless romantic vibe. He has lyrics for all the lonely hearts out there, and the simplicity of his lyrics make his music relatable to any audience.
His song “stay away from my baby” parallels the evocative voice of Morrissey, from the Smiths. The lyrics within the song also can be compared to the sad boy vibes that the classic band gave off. “Stay away from my lady/ When she’s gone the days are so hazy/ If she left i’d be oh-so lost/ I’ll keep her here whatever the cost.”
Bane’s World is also similar to the Beach Boys. Although the group is famous for upbeat tunes, Bane’s World has the same gentle tone in his voice, especially when paired with the throwback guitar and lovesick rhymes.
It is imperative that you listen to “Gorgeous”, “pleasure.treasure”, and “my angel from taiwan” on Bane’s World’s Soundcloud.
If you are a fan of artists like Mac DeMarco, Frankie Cosmos, Tame Impala, The Smiths, The Beach Boys, and/or music from the 60s and 70s, take a trip to Bane’s World. You won’t regret it.
Lover of all things escapist.
