Harry Styles: Live on Tour (Review)
YUNGBLUD, a 20 year old from Northern England, is giving alternative music a new name. He incorporates pop influences in his music, and hip-hop in his lyrics by coupling his melodies with impressive bars. His music is catchy yet meaningful and sure to appeal any lyrically conscious individual.
His standout track “Polygraph Eyes” from his latest self-titled EP is a powerful single with a strong message. YUNGBLUD addresses sexual assault by narrating a story that we’ve all heard before. His recollection reinforces the way that sexual assault is trivialized in today’s society, and helps empower a cause that many can connect with.
He discusses his track “Polygraph Eyes” in an interview with Billboard magazine: “I wanted to write a song that shines a light on sexual assault, a conversation that has been started and needs to remain at the forefront of our minds. I think people my age have the power to enact change.”
