With so many high-profile names due to hit the market, here are our top 5 NFL free agents.
Kirk Cousins was the first quarterback to ever be franchise tagged in consecutive years with the Washington Redskins. Now, Cousins is finally free of the franchise tag and is expecting a big pay day in free agency. Cousins is 29 and about to embark on his 7th season in the NFL with a solid reputation backing him. As far as we know, the landing spots for Cousins have been dwindled down to just the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings. Cousins obviously wants to play for a winning team but acquiring him could come down to a competitive bidding war.

These are the Hottest Artists of Summer 2018
The recent release of Richard Sherman by the Seattle Seahawks was a surprising one. Sherman is going to be 30 for this upcoming season but his production on the field has been elite since the moment he entered the league. Sherman has allowed just a 48% completion percentage to opposing receivers throughout his entire career. To put that number in perspective, only 9 cornerbacks allowed less than a 50% completion percentage in 2017. With that being said, Sherman is a lockdown cornerback that any team would be fortunate to land in free agency this year. Sherman met with the 49ers this past Friday and is set to meet with the Lions next week. Additionally, Sherman has received interest from the Titans, Raiders, Bucs, Packers, and Texans.
With the recent roster additions of Marcus Peters and Aquib Talib, it’s safe to say the Rams will likely be unable to bring back Trumaine Johnson in 2018. Johnson has been nothing but productive in his 5-year NFL career with the Rams. There are numerous teams with a need for a cornerback but it looks as though the front runners to land him are the Raiders and 49ers. It would be hard to imagine the 49ers being able to sign both Richard Sherman and Trumaine Johnson but the 9ers will have over 70 million dollars in salary cap space to play with and crazier things have happened in this league.
Andrew Norwell is an elite interior offensive lineman in the NFL and the Panthers will likely be unable to sign him to another long-term deal with his price tag. Along with being a force to reckon with on the field, Norwell’s durability is also something that bolsters his value. Norwell has not missed a game since 2015. Teams in need of an interior offensive lineman, such as the Giants or Buccaneers, could be a perfect destination for the 26-year-old Guard.
Dontari Poe is a player that has been fortunate enough to find himself on a playoff team in 4 of this first 6 years in the NFL with both the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons. Right now, it’s looking as if the Falcons will be unable to reach a deal with the star defensive tackle before the free agency period begins. Poe is not only an interior run stuffer, but he has shown the capability to rush the quarterback as well by racking up a total of 15.5 sacks in his career. When assessing where Poe could end up in free agency, teams such as the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have all been linked to rumors regarding the acquisition of the young defensive tackle.
