ayokay Creates Heartbreaking Electro-Pop “Sleepless Nights” ft. Nightly
Alex Aiono started creating video covers at the age of 14 and decided to take a big leap forward into making his music a career rather than just an interest. As he grew more and more, Alex first started trending when his Youtube cover of Drake’s “One Dance” with a latino mix of Nicky Jam’s “Hasta El Amanecer” which got over a whopping 60 Million views.
With his 5 Million subscribers, Alex has taken his talents from video covers of other artists to touring and performing his own music.

I had the opportunity to exclusively interview him and follow up on the whole experience of his tour:
How is the tour going so far? “Tour is going so well! it feels like it has been here for 4 months, but its only been a week. What is different from this tour than pass tours is that this tour is mine. I’ve been on tour with Will [William Singe] and Sabrina [Sabrina Carpenter] and there were amazing. But, I get make this tour my own. I get to do meet and greets the way I want to do them, play whatever songs you want, I have a live band with me this time which is different from the other tours and the set list and lights and everything, we just worked so hard for. This is the most Alex Aiono’s experience you can get.”
Day to day schedule looks like on the tour? “Wake up, load into the venue, build it up, we go to FYE i store meet & greet, i do laundry, fix/restring my guitar, play video games, sound check, and then usually get ready, shower, then do my meet and greet, then I come back stage and kick it for a bit and then showtime.”
What is your favorite song to perform on tour? “This tour, I gotta say it’s either Thinking About You which I just realeased or One At A Time, there just two fun new songs, we just released it two weeks ago and the fans know every word, its amazing!”
Is there something you don’t like about touring? “Being away from my family, I get super homesick, but outside of that I am all for it.”
What keeps you motivated to perform/give it your all almost every night? “It’s just fun. I don’t need to be motivated to do anymore. I think it is really something I look forward to do every night. I load in, I do all the stuff I don’t want to do like laundry, so that I can get to the fun part of doing the show.”
How does it feel going on tour with your opening act Trinidad Cardona? “I know I am going to see him everyday, build more of a connection and a friendship and tell stories and connect on what is going on and we obviously share the stage every night so just being closer.”
You started off of Youtube – do you watch anYoutubers yourself? “David Dobrik, Casey Neistat, I watch Will’s video then I’ll like watch random videos just clicking on the recommended videos for hours.”
Is there anything that you do before going on stage? “I have handshakes for everyone, that I do for each person, customized!”
Last I asked him, that he was #ontheverge of making new music last time we interviewed him, now you are #ontheverge of what on this tour? “Okay, so now I am #ontheverge of releasing new music, were getting closer!”
Besides his amazing personality behind stage, he came out with a huge presence on stage.
His loyal fans of all ages, and genders were very excited to see him as they crowded around the stage leaving no room for space.
Not only were these fans of Alex Aiono, but they were huge fans of Trinidad Cardona the opening act. Once Alex Aiono and his live band showed up with this immediate banger to draw in the crowd, we knew that this concert was going to be one for the books.
His singing, cute dance moves, and incredible musical talent were just too jaw dropping to watch . We can’t help it but to bop our heads to the insanely good beats of Alex Aiono.
One thing that I seemed to notice about him was the fact that he is able to take pieces and snippets of other songs and combine them in a way that no one can ever imagine.
If it was a famous pop song on the radio, he completely revamps the song and turns it into a r&b piece, which, I find, can be extremely hard to do. Everything just fits and works when he makes his own covers. That’s one of the main reasons why people love him.
Whether you like him or not, you can’t help the fact to respect this young man. He has come a long way of pursuing his dream and actually turning that into a reality.
Check his out his new EP, and music that he just released a month ago on Spotify or any other social platforms!
Get to know my work!
