We jam to an energizing playlist like the first Velvet Venture for the walk to the library—getting motivated to pack lots of knowledge in our brains—then an easy, mellow stream of beats that won’t interrupt our thoughts while we study.
If you’re looking to leave campus, the new Austin Central Library downtown has six floors of bright, comfortable study spots. On the top floor there’s a patio with beautiful views of Lake Austin, and it’s usually quiet enough to peacefully study out there. It’s best to go during the weekday, as it gets crowded on the weekends and closes at 9 p.m.
Brew & Brew is our favorite place to go in east Austin. It can get noisy at night, but their great selection of coffee, beer, and music creates the perfect vibe for casually working. There’s an art gallery next door, where you’ll find a nice study break and a little inspiration.
On beautiful days we work outside at the tables between the College of Liberal Arts and Student Activity center on campus. The tables behind the Liberal Arts building under the trees are one of our best-kept secrets.
