With the UT basketball season beginning, we teamed up with junior shooting guard Eric Davis to get a playlist to help hype you up for tonight’s game and the season.
Excited about the basketball season? So are we. Verge Campus had the opportunity to interview junior basketball player, Eric Davis, to learn more about him and the team as well as make an all-new UNLEASHED playlist to pump you up for the game.
Before each game, Davis has a relaxing routine that consists of a nap, therapy, and a shower. He listens to his favorite artists, Jay Z and Fabolous, to get into game mode.
Eric Davis was recruited from Saginaw, Michigan, and he came in strong his freshman year. He has continued to prove himself a key player to the team by playing 66 career games and scoring double digits 23 times during his career at UT.
As he reflected on his time here at UT, he emphasized how honored he is to play for UT, especially knowing some of the great players who have come through before him.
Eric’s favorite NBA player is CJ McCollum. “CJ McCollum is my favorite because our games resemble one another,” Davis said. “He’s not the most athletic or the fastest guy on the court, but he is pretty crafty, and he can shoot the ball well, so I try to model my game after him.” Eric plans to take his basketball career to the next level after his years at UT, and he hopes to get the chance to play in the NBA.
Tonight UT takes on the VCU Rams in Virginia at 7 pm eastern time. You can watch the game on ESPN2. To find the dates and times for the 2018 basketball season, check out Texas Sports. Be sure to listen to the UNLEASHED playlist to get into game mode alongside the players.
To sign off, Eric said, “I would like to invite all UT students and Longhorns fans to all of our home games. Your attendance is a huge help to our program and we appreciate you!”
