Watch the visuals for HAIM’s “Valentine” here.
The Haim sisters have been center in the music scene for a while now. Ever since their debut album, Days Are Gone launched, the names Danielle, Ester and Alana Haim holy on the indie rock world. The sister´s are not only loved by critics, but also by fashion designers and have gathered a hoard of admires.
Valentine premiered in LA and NYC theaters in July before it was posted on youtube yesterday.
The video shows the sisters in Valentine Recording Studios in LA, in a dimly lit room, the band shows us some of their singles for their new LP, Something to Tell You. It starts with Right Now, followed by Something to Tell You and finishes . The video closes with HAIM´s famous drum circle, a tradition on concerts. Paul Thomas Anderson’s directing makes the studio session feel intimate, like we are flies on the wall of Haim´s secret world.
Curiously, the partnership between the band and the director sparked when Paul found out that Haim sister´s mother was his art teacher. “You can really hear the room mics are really loud and us stomping around,” Danielle Haim said in April of Anderson’s video. “Paul was adamant about wanting to hear Alana click on her pedal. You can hear that click when she does it and you can hear our heels and we were like, ‘Wow, this is crazy I can’t believe we pulled this off in a day.'”
The new partnership between Haim and Anderson is a video for the band´s new single Little of Your Love, which will premier soon.
