Looking to do a run or race and have fun doing it? Look no further!
Here is a list of some runs and races taking place in Pennsylvania this summer. Their themes and level of difficulty differ, but there is something for everybody. Take a look!
1. The Color Run
The Color Run is a 5K race through and around Citizen’s Bank Park, the Philadelphia Phillies’ stadium. Participants wear mostly white clothing and are sprayed with colored powder throughout the run. This is a vibrant and upbeat race, and all fitness levels can participate. Run, walk, skip, jump… as long as you have fun! The run is on June 25, and you can sign up here.
2. Run Now Wine Later
After completing a 5K, who wouldn’t want a glass of wine? This run takes you through the charming town of New Hope, Pennsylvania. After crossing the finish line, there will be a food and wine tasting festival. What a perfect way to celebrate your hard work! The event is on September 10, and you can sign up here.
3. Tough Mudder
If you’re looking to challenge yourself, the Tough Mudder may be the right one for you! This race combines running, obstacles, and of course, mud. Based on your fitness level, you can choose from a variety of Mudder races that differ in distance and number of obstacles. The Tough Mudder comes to Pittsburgh on September 9 and 10, and you can sign up here.
4. Spartan Race
Are you the adventurous type? Looking for something that you’re really going to have to train for? Do a Reebok Spartan Race! The races are about running and completing intense obstacles, such as crawling under barbwire and jumping over fire. Different race options are offered for different skill levels. There are Spartan Races in Palmerton, Pennsylvania on July 8 and 15, and you can sign up here.
