Harry Styles: Live on Tour (Review)
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, 21-year-old Liv Miraldi captivates with her new lead single “Undertow.” Cleverly infusing Pop and R&B this song is both eerie and intoxicating leaving you wanting to hear more from the very talented young lady. ‘Undertow’ was written in a downward spiral state of mind “I wrote ‘Undertow’ because I was losing control of everything around me…” Liv Miraldi goes on saying “I was barely keeping my head above water” this is a feeling myself and I am sure most of you can relate to. The song goes on describing the realization that we cannot control certain situations, but we can control how we react to them. If you surrender to the undertow, you have a better chance of survival.
When I first heard the song back in January I asked Liv what the inspiration was and with out hesitation she began to tell me “The idea came to me in a dream. I dreamt that I was a lifeguard who saw someone drowning. When I dove into the water and brought the women to shore to give her CPR, I flipped her over and the women was me.” This dream is vividly painted in the second verse of the song, the lyrics are as followed: She was swallowed by the waves so I dove into save her, Swam to the shore with the silent stranger. The air was cold and so was she, she lost her soul to the sea. WAIT. The Girl Was, ME”. Liv knew after that dream that she was in a toxic environment and needed to save herself.
Nashville based producer Jon Santana produced this track. ‘Undertow’ is Liv’s first single as an independent artist (she was previously in a duo) and I cannot wait to hear more from her. Not only is today special because it is the release of her new single, it is also the first day of her “The Undertow Tour” in France! Check out the link below so you can catch her along side with her talented opener Abby Frenes. The best part about the tour? The tickets are completely free! The Undertow Tour Dates.
