Thousands Demand Refunds From Spotify After Drake...
MY choice for the week is ‘Let’s Switch It Up’ which is the latest single from the Austin, Texas-based rock band White Denim. The song is immediately recognizable to anyone familiar with White Denim’s work. A tight, guitar-driven trio accompany singer James Petralli’s powerful vocals and suggestive lyrics. As the semester is coming to a close, ‘Let’s Switch It Up’ is just the kind of bubbly song to make you look forward to summer.

Childish Gambino Targets Environmental Issues with “Feels Like Summer”
My first selection for this week is ‘Pound Cake’ by Drake. I chose this song because of its badass feel to it. The beat is simply chilling and Drake has some very good vocal samples in it. Jay-Z isn’t someone I listen to very often anymore, but his verse is swaggy and narcissistic, and its something only Jay can pull of in that tone.
The second song from me this week is High Time by Grateful Dead. I chose this song because it’s reminiscent ambiance of summer 2K15. I remember listening to it in the Barcelona airport coming off the plane into Europe. It’s a chill and beautiful song. Make sure to throw it on your summer playlists.
My choice for this week is ‘Happy Idiot’ by TV On The Radio. I found this song playing at a local restaurant and it’s absolutely amazing. The song is just perfect for a chilled out and relaxed weekend.
My song for this week is ‘Lust for Life’ by Lana Del Rey featuring The Weeknd. It’s the second single from Lana’s upcoming album. The song is like magic and just pulls you into it completely. The Weeknd and Lana’s voices harmonize perfectly and blend together flawlessly making every chorus a spiritual experience. It’s definitely one of my favorite songs by Lana and I love the way her next album is looking.
‘Beautiful Now’ by Zedd is one my songs of the week because it’s enticing, engaging, and 100% relateable. Many probably already know it, but it’s a song all about loving yourself, defining yourself, and never letting who you are go because of the actions your mind convinces you to complete. The music video is also vividly attractive – aesthetically and representative in the way it brings together multiple communities and types of people to the recognition that things happen, but love who you are for you.
My second choice is ‘My Best Friend’ by Tim McGraw, because I’ve been hanging out with my boyfriend a lot recently – as a friend. I have definitely re-fallen in love with him in the past few weeks, and it makes me beyond happy to know I not only have a boyfriend I love and care about but is also a best friend I know will never leave my side. It’s a bit sappy, but it’s not a problem to have some time of just friendship, hanging out, and relaxing – not everything needs to be a picture perfect romance movie with cute dates. Watching movies, tickle fights and group lunch dates are perfect with my guy, and, as Tim puts it, “I don’t know where I’d be without you here with me.”
Happy Friday, kids!
