If you’re not an avid follower of basketball or just live under a rock, you may not know about the Golden State Warriors. Yes, the Warriors with that three point shooting kid. Wet Burry, I think his name is? Who knows?
Anyway, though they are the team who blew a 3-1 lead, they won themselves a Kevin Durant instead in free agency. Kevin who? Oh, he’s just a 2014 NBA MVP. And an eight time all star. And a four time scoring champion. Oh, and he also joined a team that won broke the wins record the year prior which made people mad.
Ah, and there’s one more crucial part of this story. Leaving his prior team of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant had to say goodbye to his former Thunder bud Russell Westbrook. Obviously, it would be difficult but when you spend eight years on the same team, it should probably be done anyway. Durant didn’t say anything. He texted it. Figuratively, he picked up in the middle of the night and left for Cali. Literally, Westbrook learned of his departure the same way we all did: on tv.

Now you’re caught up. What does that have to do with today though? Well, tonight was the NBA All Star game and both Westbrook and Durant were on the same team. With Westbrook’s documented shots at Durant thoroughly noted (here, here, and here), people wondered how it would go. Well, WE HAVE OUR ANSWER!
It was fine. I mean, they’re still clearly not really speaking to each other but for a split second, they were friends again! The lob was beautiful and it was just like old times, right? Right?
Hopefully, the greatest duo since Kool-Aid and gummy worms (try them, they’re delicious!) can one day be friends again. Until then, at least we have this lob.
