The '09 Duo is Back: Kid Cudi & Kanye West's 'KIDS SEE GHOSTS'
Just last month, Post Malone released his long-awaited debut album, ‘Stoney’. While you would think that Post Malone would put his best foot forward for his debut project, it appears Malone may in fact have kept a few tracks off of the album.
During a recent appearance with Shade 45’s ‘The Whoolywood Shuffle,’ Malone revealed he has been sitting on a trove of unreleased music he has recorded with none-other-than Kanye West. While speaking with DJ Woo Kid, Malone spoke on his experience working with Kanye on Kanye’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ track “Fade”, and how he originally was presented the opportunity to work on the record.
“‘Fade’ was just a dope vibe, a little funky vibe, so let’s try something new,” the Texas rapper said. “You never really know what to expect, but [Kanye] played me the song, or he sent me the song so I could hear it. And then I did like a scratch vocal and then I got in the actual studio with him and actually cut the real vocals to the song.”

Malone further elaborated, commenting on Kanye’s creative process and explaining how they both had a similar recording style.
“I’ll tell you what. He’s got this pad of paper with just like thousands of ideas in it, lines that he’ll use. Throughout the day he’ll probably just think of something and write it down, he flips through and comes up with the craziest stuff, off a freestyle, off a flow,” the 21-year-old said. “We kind of record in the same way, but in his way he’s just so much more genius than me.”
When Whoo Kid asked about Malone’s unreleased collaboration with Kanye, Malone was sheepish, appearing hesitant to provide to many details. “Um … a couple of them,” Malone remarks. In the interview, Malone says that there are “a couple tracks” originally written for Stoney with Kanye that have yet to see the light of day.
While it seems we may have to wait a bit longer to experience the unreleased music, you can watch the full interview between Post Malone and DJ Woo Kid above.
