Finally, someone (Chris Brown) says what we’re all thinking! The rapper, who fell from grace back in 2009, is dropping some much needed truth.
If you do the internet, literally in any way, you’ve probably heard that there’s some drama going down between Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian West, and Kanye West…#KimExposedTaylorParty anyone? The trio is fighting over Kanye’s way over-discussed song ‘Famous.’ Specifically, the beef is concerned with whether or not Taylor ok-ed the lyrics she later whined about. Swift as usual was playing the victim until Kim came in hot with a video that catches Taylor in her own web of lies. Blah blah blah another celebrity brawl unfolds before our eager eyes.
While most of America succumbs to a sick fascination with celebrity (aka the reason #KimExposedTaylorParty is trending higher than the Republican National Convention) one unlikely voice cuts through the chaos. Today Chris Brown is speaking the truth…even if it is through Instagram comments.
The rapper took to Taylor Swift’s Instagram response to #KimExposedTaylorParty to drop some nugs of wisdom. No one was safe from Brown’s fire. The rapper unabashedly called out everyone from our societal norms to Taylor Swift. Check out the pure unedited Chris Brown consciousness comments in the screen shot one Instagram account captured below!
Chris Brown told us how he really feels, and to be honest I totally agree. The rapper started off with a punchy one-liner asking, “WHO GIVES A FUCK,” in reference to this whole petty debacle. He then moved on to throw shade at Tay for being out of touch with reality and immature. Brown took his shot at Swift and the Wests saying, “EVERYBODY BE REALLY ACTING LIKE LITTLE ASS KIDS… Oh NO, someone said something I don’t like. OUCH, MY PUSSY HURT.” Personally, I wouldn’t have phrased my complaint as Chris did, but his message is still right on. Chris Brown just wants everyone to get back to the important stuff ie. “make music and shut the fuck up.”
Brown continued his Instagram rant, and shit got real. The rapper denounces celebrity culture and Pokémon Go (*gasp*) and calls our values and lives into question. Chris’ continued rant addresses all the insignificant stuff our society attaches value to saying, “BETWEEN POKEMON (which I love) and this FAKE ASS CELEBRITY HIGH SCHOOL DEBATE TEAM, our values or even our regular lives are too consumed by bullshit…I just wanna see things from artists (celebrities) that actually fucking matter.” Preach, Chris Brown, preach!
Our society is caught up with churning out the latest celebrity gossip and catching the most valuable pokémon, instead of what actually matters. Too much content, music, and art is merely a copy of someone else’s idea just slightly rearranged. I believe that Chris Brown is really onto something. As a society we need to change our value system. Creativity is different from productivity. Celebrity is constructed, whereas our societal problems are as real as can be. Let’s take a page from Chris Brown and refocus on what really matters.
