Keeping our hearts fluttering Fleurie, reminds us all of second chances and unrequited love. With a sound reminiscent of Florence Welch yet presenting an invigorating flair “Still Your Girl” is the candle of hope burning within us all. Synths and angelic vocals take this song out of a usual electric monotony and transform it into a permeating record. Fleurie’s celestial melodies can be heard on her newly released EP “Arrows”, currently available on iTunes.
With a name that speaks volumes, presiding above others with regality and majestic ability Wati Heru is unmistakably powerful on his track “Evil”. This thunderous record reminds any that if subjects are to get of line there will be repercussions, as respect is not in question. However as all royalty, the prosperity of their kingdom reigns as the most important. Heru’s spitfire bars, and trap beats are sure to rock the foundations of music as you know it.
Taking it back to the time of classic rock, with obvious influence from country blues and soul – “Mama Needs The Bottle” is the musical rendition on the obvious appearance and effects of addiction. Each guitar strum is like a shot of stout on the rocks, strong with a sharp chill along with every whisk. Boulder, Colorado is coming through on the map as members Brian Hubbert and Andrew Oakley have come together as one of the city’s most prominent bands. The duo is currently on a nationwide tour, so check them out if they come through to your city.
Rolling Stoned, rolling stones. Stoners mobbing through together, is Sean Smart’s ambient anthem for ole lady Mary Jane. Sparking it up for the listeners in hazy fogs, the slowed beats on “Rolling Stoned” coincide perfectly for the flows laced with double entendres. Sean Smart’s self-titled debut is expected to drop this fall, and his latest track “Light Poles” will also be featured on the upcoming EP.
Be sure to check in at 1:00 pm, next Tuesday for our next installation of #FreshPicks.
