LovelyTheBand just released the music video for their debut single “Broken” and it has us all feeling a little less lonely.
“Life is funny like that, when the dust settles at the end of the day- and we’ve said all we can, we’ll realize every part of us, even the loving ones, were a little broken.” These are the opening words spoken by lead singer Mitchy Collins of LovelyTheBand, who’s words set the tone for the entire duration of the video.
The video takes place at a party where Collins meets a mysterious (somewhat troubled) blonde. Through out the video we are switching back and forth from a party to a life he is picturing with the beauty- what life could be if they were ‘broken’ together.
I like that you’re broken, broken like me. Maybe that makes me a fool? I like that you’re lonely, lonely like me. I can be lonely with you.
We all are a little broken and that shouldn’t hold us back from trying to love someone or let them in. Growing up, we are taught to suppress our feelings and feeling ‘lonely’, ‘broken’ and vulnerable is often frown upon. For me, this song is saying “Hey I like you, we both have sh***y and broken pasts, but that’s not going to stop me from trying this game we call love!”
The three piece band includes, Lead vocalist as well as guitarist Mitchy Collins, Jordan Greenwald who is on guitar as well as the keyboard and the drummer Sam Price. I was lucky enough to catch them last month (08/22/17) at the Bootleg Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The band put on a great live show and had everyone vibing and dancing to their unreleased music! I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these guys, I know I’l be cheering them on every step of the way! Be sure to keep an eye out for their debut album being released September 22. Enjoy!
