A blast from the past.
This weeks gaming spotlight is going to be on a major throwback so pull out your wii’s or gamecube’s because Mario Kart Double Dash is at the top. Not only is this game amazing to play with a ton of friends, but it’s the best way to catch up on what everyone did this summer. From all the different special abilities every character has to the iconic Mario Kart tracks, this game can keep you entertained for long periods of time.
What to obtain from a throwback
Just jam packed fun. I’ve always found it to be astonishing when gamers nowadays can’t get over the graphics of a game and enjoy the real ingenuity of the games from the past. The joy of throwbacks equals great ways to bring groups of friends together. ‘Super Smash Bro’s’, ‘Mario Kart’ and the list goes on. The mind set you have to go in with these games is to make it a great group gathering.
Why Double Dash?
For a throwback, you have to start somewhere. So why not ‘Double Dash’? This is a fantastic throwback that mixes racing, super abilities and the classic Mario Kart tracks. When coupled with a bunch of friends playing and screaming at each other, because someone was hit with the blue shell resulting in a last place finish you can rest assured every minute will be filled with laughs and bonding. What’s so great about ‘Double Dash’ is that the race can change so quick. One moment whomever is first can move to last and vice versa. I like to partake in the simple combination of Mario and Bowser as my duo of brilliance, but I proceeded to get totally wrecked in all five games I played. (Didn’t realize my friends were such professionals.)
First of all, play ‘Mario Kart Double Dash’ — if you do not have it find someone that does. Get out the old consoles! I’m talking PS2, Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo, etc. The classics are still some of the best games to date. Want to catch up on what happened to everyone this summer whether good, bad, or ugly? What better way than putting a controller in your hands and gaming with some classic games.
