Noiselab is a program teaching the next generation of producers.
The significance of production has grown two-fold over the past few years as it has infiltrated a majority of the songs that we listen to today. Noiselab is helping grow this generation of producers one beat and one synth note at a time as they now include some of the best producers in the world to teach you themselves the art of sonic design.
The courses are very easily broken down and exposed into their most simple tasks. Noiselab is an electric community of passionate musicians, ready for the chance to learn the skills of Ableton. All of the instructors are either Ableton Certified Trainers or have been deemed successful producers with impressive and valid industry qualifications and achievements. The best part? It’s absolutely mobile, meaning you can use the courses on any device whether it be tablet, smartphone, or computer. The program has been triumphant as they now have accumulated 5,000+ students with their monthly updated courses!
The classes themselves are just as dynamic in character as their teachers, including topics such as Electronic Music Production 101, Synthesis, Music Theory (for Electronic Musicians), Sidechains, Hacks, Djing, and more!
Now back to the best part, this initiative fully believes in learning from the top in the industry, and for their first “In The Studio” series, they begin with a pretty big star. STINT (Ajay Bhattacharyya) is a Canadian producer who produced and co-wrote for what was Gallant’s album hit and Grammy-nominated project, Ology (nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards). STINT has had one of the most diverse artist rosters that most emerging producers can only dream of having. He has worked on projects with such artists as AlunaGeorge, Carly Rae Jepsen, Train, Portugal. The Man, NAO, and Sabrina Claudio.
In these episodes, the young mastermind helps walks the students through a simplified and well-detailed instruction of the writing and producing process for Gallant’s dreamy single “Weight In Gold”.
Throughout the course you are learning the breakdown of every part of the song consisting of the drums, keys, guitar, vocals and then the chorus, bridge, and verses. There’s even the added episode of STINT’s favorite keyboard short cuts which will help you along your production journey.
“This course is the first of it’s kind that I’ve done in my career. It’s incredibly comprehensive and will probably tell you everything you’ve ever wanted to know about “Weight In Gold” and my production techniques. There are some useful tips in there that will hopefully help out Ableton users, but also some discussion about songwriting that can apply to any and all musicians”, says the creative.
With ease, simplicity, and pure knowledge, STINT really shows his true colors and passion for the music and for the art form of music production itself in these well-constructed videos by Noiselab, and how he’s excited to share that with you.
