The second season of “Stranger Things” will premiere this year on October 27th.
Netflix released the official synopsis for season two, stating that the forthcoming season will pick up one year after the end of the first season. In the new season, the new year will show the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana still recovering from the horrors of the Demogorgon and from the secrets of Hawkins Laboratory. Will was recused from the upside down, but a bigger and scarier entity still preys on the living.
According to Matt and Ross Duffer, creators and producers of the show, this season will be “bigger, darker and even more frightening”.
About the first episode, “the first five minutes, you’re not going to know you’re watching ‘Stranger Things,'” said the actor, who plays Sheriff Jim Hopper. The actor also said that his goal on season two is to find Eleven.

There is a rumor that the show was renewed for a third season, however, the Duffer brothers said that the show will not have more than 5 season total.
For the disappointment of the fans, Barba is not coming back, but according to the actress Sharon Pulser, who plays Barb on the show, her character will get justice.
