It’s been two years since George Ezra released new music and his single “Don’t Matter Now” is so carefree, it’s a perfect song to listen to this summer.
In his new single “Don’t Matter Now,” George Ezra writes lyrics about disconnecting from the material things in life like cellphones, trying to fit into certain crowds, and just being by one’s self. His deep vocals contrast beautifully with the light melody of the guitar and simple drum beat. The music video that was also released along with the single is just as incredible. It’s impossible to not tap your feet, or bop your head along to this song.
All month long, George Ezra has been playing intimate gigs across the European countries and at the end of the month, he’s due to play Glastonbury Festival, which is one of the most anticipated festivals of the year over in the United Kingdom. On Instagram, Ezra has also been dropping hints that he is going to be releasing more music soon, and hopefully he’ll bless us with his sophomore album before the summer ends.
If “Don’t Matter Now” is any indication of how George Ezra’s sound has developed over the time that he has taken a break, there’s no doubt whatsoever that his upcoming record is going to be beautifully crafted.
