Summer is a great time to check out new artists. That’s why Verge Campus BU is proud to announce our Summer Artist to Watch Series. Every week we will feature an up-and-coming artist who is doing big things this summer. We start with singer-songwriter Léon.
Born Lotta Lindgren in Stockholm, Sweden, Léon dominated the indie pop waves in 2015 with her single “Tired of Talking” which would then be a part of her debut EP, Treasure.
“Tired of Talking” took off immediately on SoundCloud and garnered the interest of producers such as A-Trak, who put together a catchy remix of the single.
In March of this year, Léon released her third EP, For You, which features her second hit single “Think About You.”
Prior to and after the release of For You, Léon toured the U.S. and various dates around Europe. Currently is she is slated to play major festivals this summer including Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN and Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL.
Léon is another talented vocalist to come out of Sweden, joining the ranks of people like Tove Lo, Robyn, and Lykke Li. Her current success can be measured in her constantly growing following as well as some of the festivals she has in her schedule. Indie pop is full of captivating, versatile artists, however Léon has struck a chord that has made her stand out. Her thoughtful lyrics and melodic voice create a calming and posittive effect on anyone who listens, and I have without a doubt that experience would be amplified in a live show.
