Shaky Beats Music Festival has a remarkable second year with an amazing turnout and even better performances.
Shaky Beats Music Festival was this past weekend and we here at GoodMusicAllDay were fortunate enough to be in attendance. With this only being the second year, it’s safe to say that Shaky Beats has got the festival down to a science. Really putting together a great environment and bringing ever better acts, 2017 was one for the books.
The first day was suppose to rain but the festival gods looked over Atlanta and luckily didn’t give us anything but a few light misty showers. With that being said, the wetness didn’t stop the fun from proceeding. Friday we got to the festival around 5pm to catch the end of Boombox Cartel. From there we went on to see the likes of Party Favor, Ganja White Night, Snails, RL Grime and finally GRiZ. This was a wild night as Atlanta turned upside down in a sea of people turning up and having the time of their lives.
My personal favorite show from Friday had to be either GRiZ or Ganja White Night. GWN brought the heavy deep hitting bass and with the Ponce Stage being the smallest of all three stages, the crowd seemed the rowdiest. GRiZ, even though I have seen him multiple times, always puts on one hell of a funky show.
Saturday, for us, started around 5pm as we made our way in to see Slushii first. With people flooding in at this time, the Saturday crowds were even bigger and better than Friday. After seeing Slushii on the main stage, we made our way throughout the rest of the day seeing acts like Epwurd, Illenium, Gramatik, Mija, Flosstradamus and finally Kaskade.
My personal favorite from Saturday had to be Kaskade. Playing a ton of his classic old songs and adding in the production effects like fire, lazers and fog truly made that show one of the best from the entire weekend. The crowd was super turnt and was an overall amazing way to end the a long Saturday of music.
Sunday was a rough start. After two full days of music, after-parties and staying up till 4am or later, it all starts to hit you on day three. With that being said that didn’t stop the fun, dancing and excitement for what was to come. Sunday we go to the festival just in time to catch the tail end of Slander’s set. Walking in on Sunday you could tell that the crowds were the biggest of all three days. Maybe that was because of The Chainsmokers or maybe thats just what it seemed like. Nevertheless Sunday was incredible. We were able to catch the sets of Grandtheft, Loudpvck, Getter, Rezz, Zeds Dead and finally The Chainsmokers.
My personal favorite from Sunday had to be either Rezz or The Chainsmokers. Catching Rezz’s set earlier this year at BUKU, I knew she was ready to throw down. Drawing what seemed like the biggest crowd for the Ponce Stage (smallest of all three), Rezz brought the heat to Atlanta.
Overall Shaky Beats Music Festival was a complete success and we here at GoodMusicAllDay couldn’t be happier with the turnout and everything from the weekend. Atlanta is really churning out some amazing festivals and Shaky Beats is definitely one that is here to stay. Big shout out to Chad, Sandee, Bailey, C3 Presents, Fresh & Clean Media and all the staff at Shaky Beats for an amazing weekend. We can’t wait for 2018.
