On April 27th, Haim dropped a new single for the first time in three years. The iconic trio is back, and they’re preparing to release their long-awaited second album.
All week long, Haim has been teasing their new single, and it does disappoint. The single is the world’s first glimpse of their upcoming second album and what can be expected of them. Their second album titled, Something to Tell You, can be expected July 7, 2017.
Their new single“Right Now” is a song that demonstrates the sisters’s pure talent when it comes to embracing music and everything that it encompasses.
Along with the preview of their new song, Haim shared a video of them playing “Right Now” in the studio. Danielle, Este, and Alana Haim gave everyone the opportunity to see how they interacted with each other while recording. The piano at the beginning definitely made me think that the song was going to be a soft ballad, but I was pleasantly surprised when Este started playing bass and Alana introduced a heavy electric guitar above the piano. However, the part of the song that really picked at everyone’s interest was when Alana and Este introduced heavy percussion into the song, (honestly it’s so good).
Not only does Haim have their second album being released soon, they are also going to start making a lot of musical appearances on various media channels.
It hasn’t been confirmed on whether or not Haim will be going on tour this summer, but it’s definitely a high possibility. Earlier in the week, the band announced that they would be the musical guests on Saturday Night Live for the second time on May 13th. Haim will also be dropping another single sometime next week, and it’s likely that they’ll perform both songs on the show. And if that’s not already exciting enough, Haim will also be playing at the Life is Beautiful Festival in September in Las Vegas, along with a few other festival appearances throughout the summer.
I’m genuinely excited to hear Haim’s album and observe the musical maturation between their first and second album. It’s been a long time coming, but I can already bet that Something to Tell You is going to be one of the biggest soundtracks of the summer.
