Never been to Pittsburgh before? No worries! We’ve compiled the four best things to do while visiting the City of Bridges!
Growing up in Pittsburgh it never seemed like there was anything to do. Now that I’m older I’ve realized there are so many fun things to do especially in the summer time in my favorite city!
1. Pittsburgh Sports
Whether hockey or baseball is your thing now is the time to check out some of the amazing sports teams in Pittsburgh. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on hockey tickets then go to the big screen on game nights and don’t forget to wear your black and gold to support the Penguins in the playoffs! If you want some great food and relaxing fun check out a Pirates game. The best times to go are fireworks nights. Nothing beats the view of the city with fireworks above.
2. The Three Rivers Arts Festival
Every summer all of the local artists set up stands in the Downtown district so go check it out. On tops of that there is great food and live music. Perfect for when you want to take artsy pictures for Instagram. This year’s Arts Festival starts June 2nd and ends June 11th.
3. McConnell’s Mill
If the weather is great and you want to go for a hike McConnell’s Mill is the place to go. With fun paths and beautiful water it’s perfect for those beautiful Pennsylvania summer days. There’s also a lot of history at this park so be sure to actually check out the Mill and learn all about its history.
4. Pittsburgh Museums
Pittsburgh has plenty of indoor sights to see as well for when those summer storms hit. Whether you want art, history, or you want to know more about the history of Pittsburgh there’s a museum for you.
Whether you’re new in town or have lived here all your life there is always something for you to do in Pittsburgh. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and be a tourist in your own city. It will be worth it.
