This week brought some glorious music to our ears.
Music releases are blooming this spring season! Bands are making comebacks, singers are furthering their debuts, and new ones are breaking out. Let’s take a look at four hot releases that happened this week!
1. “Slow Hands” By Niall Horan
Niall turned up the heat with his newest single. “Slow Hands” is the right mix of funk, grit and pop aka the perfect mix that gets your body grooving. Niall’s broody, edgier side is truly showcased in this hit. “Slow Hands” is the second single than Niall has released since his solo debut, the first one being “This Town”. These two singles alone displays his diversity as a solo artist.
2. “Sweet Creature” By Harry Styles
A week before Harry Style’s solo album debuts (May 12th), he teased his fans by dropping his single “Sweet Creature”. And sweet mama, Harry brought it with this acoustic ballad. The beauty of “Sweet Creature” grows onto you until you’re in tears. From what we hear from “Sign of the Times” and this newest single, Harry is bringing back the nostalgic, oldies feel with his solo debut and we are not disappointed by one bit of it! Also this week, Harry’s first solo North American tour sold out within minutes! The former One Direction boys are off to big things in their solo careers!
4. “The Breakup” By LANY
LANY has been growing traction this year and it’s no surprise. With their debut album dropping June 30th, the band released “The Breakup”. The track embodies the heartache of any breakup that many can relate to. The synths and melodies all add to the effect of the song. Their indie electro-pop sound is seriously addicting. This week, LANY also dropped the tickets to their solo tour for the latter half of the year. Make sure to see them in action when they stop by your city!
5. “Told You So” By Paramore
Earlier this month Paramore came back from their 4-year hiatus with “Hard Times”. This week, they released their latest single “Told You So” from their upcoming album After Laughter, which also releases on May 12. “Told You So” accurately shows Paramore’s grown-up, polyrhythmic tune that could also be heard in their first comeback single. “Told You So” brings a fun, retro, funky feel into the spectrum. The single also highlights Taylor York’s outrageous guitar work! Their sound may have changed from what they started as, but experimentation is brave and it’s working for them. These two releases are songs that we’ll be jamming to for a while.
