April is here! If you have already had the opportunity to relax and unwind from a Spring Break recess, then let me say, “Congratulations!”
Before we start:
Why must I be congratulating you all? Well, I, along with my friends and fellow classmates, do not get to experience the fun and relaxtion of a Spring Break for another two weeks! April 10-14 is my school’s official recess where we finally get to do all of the fun things that everyone else has been doing for the last two or so! And let me tell you: I don’t know whether it grinds my gears or not!
The placement of our Spring Break is a blessing and a curse in and of itself.
In some cases you can think of this as taking your 30-minute break just two (or less) hours before you’re scheduled to be off. It may be nice to almost feel like you won’t be working so much until you clock out. However, you’re probably dying on the inside, because of how long you worked before taking a break that usually arrives halfway through your shift. Either you’re the type who can push through it, or the type to start hyperventilating if you haven’t been given the chance to take an extended breather when the time is needed.
Where it applies: Spring Break, then study week and then finals!
Would you rather come back from a break with a few weeks to just to do scheduled course work prior to a study week and finals? Or would you rather come back from a break and realize that it’s already time to get the study wheels going?
Would you rather experience your break with less people at the resort that you plan on going to, and have it all to yourself? Or would you rather have fun with them and not feel left out?
I’m honestly not sure.
There have been complaints and there have been praises, I’ve been taking on the present moment perspective not to necessarily realize the pros and cons to everyone’s supposed ( or not at all) dilemma.
When it comes down to this year’s Spring Break: some may consider us lucky, others may actually pity us. I’m just getting my adaptability to go with what we’re given, because if not, my anxiety will prevent me from doing so. Hopefully I can experience and analyze the differences it SB comes earlier next time around.
