Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” debuts at #2, earning the Compton rapper his highest charting single ever.
Ahead of his forthcoming fourth studio album, Kendrick Lamar is already breaking his own records. Following the release of his single “Humble,” the Compton rapper has earned his highest charting single ever, with “Humble” debuting at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
The achievement is a considerable one for Lamar. While his previous single “Swimming Pools” off of his album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ went gold, it only topped out at No. 17. “Humble” marks not only Lamar’s highest Hot 100 debut, but also his highest charting single as a lead artist and the highest debut for a rap song since Eminem’s “Not Afraid” in 2010, which debuted at No. 1.
Stay tuned as Kendrick Lamar’s forthcoming album is expected to drop later this week.
