With the arrival of spring comes warmer weather, baby animals, and best of all, television premieres.
There are too many to list, so I will narrow it down to my personal top choices.
Best Returning Shows
Comedy: HBO’s Veep (April 16)
The too-many-to-count Emmy award-winning show returns, with a few bold changes. Selina [SPOILERS] is out of office. How will this story continue? Why is it still called Veep? I honestly have no idea.
Drama: FX’s Fargo (April 19)
Noah Hawley is killing it as the showrunner of Legion, but nothing can beat his first show based on that Coen Brother’s movie with the one scene with the wood chipper. Season 3 already looks amazing. Ewan McGregor is gonna be in it, playing twins. Two Ewan McGregors! Yes please.
Reality: VH1’s RuPaul’s Drag Race (March 24)
She may be on a different network but she’s still serving it up, hunty! There is nothing bad about RuPaul coming back. Nothing. Here’s a picture of all the new queens!
Cult: The CW’s iZombie (April 4)
I bet you’re not watching iZombie. But you should be! This masterpiece of plotting is only on season 3 and the whole thing is on Netflix so you have no excuse.
Most Anticipated New Show Premieres
Comedy: Netflix’s Mystery Science Theater 3000 (April 14)
Honestly this might not even count because it’s a reboot but I don’t care. I am so excited to laugh my butt off watching people watch bad movies.
Drama: Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale (April 26)
Based on the Margaret Atwood novel, this dystopian series will show us what it would be like to live in a patriarchal society. You know, cause we have no idea how that feels already.
Cult: Starz’s American Gods (April 30)
Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel is going to be a TV series. Finally…I think. Did we all want this to happen? I don’t know. I’ll watch it anyway though.
So there you have it! Lots of TV to watch. Please go outside though. You’re looking a little corpselike.
