The adventurous story of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider (a.k.a Eugene) continues this Friday on a television near you!
I may be grown adult, but I’d be lying if I said I was not excited for Tangled: The Series! Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2010 animated film Tangled, will continue this spring with a television series. Tangled: The Series takes place between the end of the movie and the beginning Tangled Ever After, which was an animated short that was released in 2012. In the 2012 short film, Rapunzel and Flynn tie the knot and live happily ever after.
Tangled: The Series will showcase Rapunzel and Flynn’s adventures before their marriage, emphasizing on how Rapunzel is adjusting to her new life as the Princess of Corona. The television series will feature Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, who were the original voice actors of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively. Also returning would the original film’s extremely talented duo Alan Menken (composer) and Glenn Slater (lyricist)! Though the original film was created with CGI, the series will follow the traditional 2D animated format.
But her hair?!
The confusion that stirred when the series promo first came out was what happened to Rapunzel’s hair?! In Tangled, Rapunzel had short brown hair which also made an appearance in Tangled Ever After, however, the promos depict Rapunzel with long golden locks. To clear up any questions the audience may have, Disney will be releasing an original movie titled Tangled Before Ever After Friday, March 10th! Tangled Before Ever After will answer the ever so important question to why Rapunzel’s hair is magical, golden and long once again. The original movie is set to act as an extended pilot to the television series which will officially premiere on March 24th! Disney Channel debuted the first 5 minutes of Tangled Before Ever After this past weekend, which you can watch below!
The series has been renewed for a second season before its premiere! Tangled: The Series has high hopes and anticipation on lock!
