With less than two weeks left until the brand new Power Rangers movie, new information has been released that will leave fans with a lot to look forward to!
New information on the rangers has been shared with the world that will help fans dive deeper into what can be expected during and even after the film. If you’re like me (tired of repetitively watching the same clips that have been uploaded to YouTube) then say no more, because this will really tame the anticipation.
Director of the film, Dean Israelite, has confirmed a mid-credit scene that actually ties into the original series (for all you original fans, out there). Of course the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers would not be what they are known for without the sixth ranger, Tommy Oliver. Well, that is exactly what the scene will be used for. On the other hand, if you pay attention to the outfit that Rita Repulsa (played by Elizabeth Banks) wears, it actually looks similar to the tech-y alien approach of the rangers’ suits. Apparently Rita’s background involves how she was a green ranger who went rogue. Perhaps when she is defeated by them at end of the film, this is where we could potentially see the same plot that went down in the series. Tommy Oliver is the new kid who falls under Rita’s spell, introducing him as the evil green ranger.
It leaves a chill down our spines to know how far the reboot will go as to including original characters from the TV show. Obviously it means that production is already considering a sequel to the movie, and there is no doubt that fans will be opposed to that.
Former Ranger CAMEOS!
What good would a remake would be if no one paid homage to its original predecessor? While production notes have only stated the roles as Cameo #1 and Cameo #2, these quick (but noticeable) cameos will belong to original pink ranger, Amy Jo Johnson, and green ranger, Jason David Frank. Although we aren’t going to see other former rangers make an appearance, it’s still amazing to see these two gems pop up in the reboot.
If you have been desperately look around for new tea on the film, then I hope this helped.
