When it comes to impersonations, Kate McKinnon is at the top of her game.
Her impersonation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions is as close to perfect as it could get. The most recent episode of SNL has Kate McKinnon performing as Sessions in a spoof of Forrest Gump. And, of course, she is the absolute best part of it.
With the recent developments of Sessions lying under oath about having contact with Russia, SNL immediately capitalized on the controversy. In the skit, Sessions is portrayed as Forrest Gump, with different cast members popping up throughout (including Beck Bennett as Vladimir Putin). Octavia Spencer even reprises her role as Minny Jackson from her breakout movie The Help, offering him some chocolate pie that has a certain secret ingredient.
The real scene-stealer of the skit is obviously the brilliant Kate McKinnon. The southern accent, comedic timing, and character inflections make her impersonation of Jeff Sessions hilarious. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of SNL, McKinnon makes the show worth it with her impersonations.
