Keep these 6 things in mind before you head out on spring break.
Here are a few of my tips of what to pack and how to save money during your Spring Break! Get the best bang for your buck and be prepared this break!
1. Take advantage of student travel sites.
This will help you save a lot of money when it comes to booking hotels and flights. Try a website like Student Universe for your next big trip!
2. Go on a road trip.
If you’re staying within the continental U.S. and have access to a car, use it! You’ll save a bunch on flying and you won’t have to bag baggage fees. Grab a few of your friends and all chip in for gas, and it’ll be a cheap, fun way to travel!
3. Pack for where you’re going.
Don’t pack shorts and tank tops if you’re spending your spring break in Alaska. Don’t bring your Canada Goose jacket to Miami. Check the weather of the place you’re traveling to and pack appropriately for it!
4. Buy your food from a grocery store.
Doing this instead of going out to eat for every meal will save you so much money. Go get some staples like water, breakfast burritos, salad, and pasta.
5. Wear sunscreen.
Please, please, please pack sunscreen. No matter where you go (unless you’re hanging out in a cave for a week), there will be sun. Save your skin from premature aging, sunburn, and cancer and slather on some sunscreen.
6. Travel during off times during on off days.
If you must fly, aim to take off between Monday and Thursday mornings. These are the most common off days, so tickets will probably be cheaper and the flights less crowded. Although this might cut into your vacation a bit, you’ll save a lot more than if you fly out on a Saturday afternoon.
Hopefully you find these tips helpful for getting the best bang for your buck and being prepared this Spring Break!
