I know the feeling on Valentine’s Day when you don’t have a significant other. You feel like every time you see someone carrying flowers or chocolates or balloons you’re missing out on all of that love.
But surprise, Valentines Day doesn’t have to be a day of bummers! Valentines Day can be all about sharing some love with the person who matters the most, yourself! Here’s how you can turn Valentines Day into a day of self love and treat yo’ self like Donna and Tom in Parks and Recreation say.
1. Spa Day
Although you might not be able to afford to pay for a day for the spa, you can still put a bath bomb into the tub, light some candles, and lay back to enjoy the peaceful suds (and maybe a glass of wine).
2. A Good Meal
Get some takeout from your favorite restaurant or make yourself your favorite dinner. Whatever makes you happiest! Then take that delicious meal and park yourself right where you belong, in front of your favorite show on Netflix.
3. Do Something you Love
Whether you love to make art, work out, dance, sing, read, or knit, spend some time doing what makes you truly happy. We often don’t have time during the week to devote time to what we want to do, so take the opportunity to do exactly what you want! Your mind will thank you.
4. Have a Dance Party
Turn on your favorite tunes, find an impromptu microphone, and dance like nobody is watching. Once you get that body moving you’ll forget about your lack of a Valentine and instead remember how cool you actually are!
Most importantly, give yourself a big hug at the end of the day and thank yourself for being so freaking incredible, awesome, smart, and hardworking! Because you deserve it!
