Unlike most dating apps, where positivity and shared interests are the name of the game, the new dating app Hater is here to take a different approach to finding that special someone. The app’s premise is quite simple – people are far more like to bond over negative opinions as opposed to positive ones. With that belief in mind, Hater is here to help you “meet someone who hates the same stuff as you.”
The app is fairly simple to use. Users are presented with 3,000 different subjects, such as slow walkers, selfies, bad tipping and more, that they are asked to give their opinions on. After swiping in different directions to indicate whether they dislike, like, hate or love a particular thing, Hater builds a profile and connects them with users who are in their area that share their dislikes. Hater even suggests different ice breakers to get the conversation started.
