dvsn’s Nineteen85 explains why drake is calling “More Life” a playlist.
Drake’s ‘More Life’ is expected to be the next project from the acclaimed rapper. While originally announced over two months ago, further details surrounding the project have been relatively few. Drake has released two singles from the project, “Two Birds, One Stone” and “Sneakin”, debuted the project’s artwork, and rumors have even circulated that Bryson Tiller may make an appearance on a track. Most interestingly, Drake has continued to refer to the project as a ‘Playlist’ rather than an actual ‘Album’.
When speaking with Billboard, Toronto producer Nineteen85 touched upon Drake’s forthcoming project, commenting why the project is indeed a playlist and not a mixtape or album.
“More Life is interesting because this is [Drake] right on the peak of his biggest project yet [with Views], doing his biggest tour and still having so many good ideas that he just wants to put out without making it a big ordeal,” the dvsn founder explained. “That’s why he’s trying to call it a playlist because he has a bunch of people in a space, hanging out…. He’s so aware of what everybody else is doing musically that he likes to introduce new music and new artists to the rest of the world.”
