The Golden Globe Awards are back, marking the beginning of this year’s award season. You can watch the star-studded evening at 8 p.m. on NBC.
Prepare for a night of fashion, film, and Fallon. The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards will not only kick off award season, but also set the tone for this year’s award season fashion. With President-elect Donald Trump’s Inauguration approaching in less than two weeks, there’s no doubt that the evening won’t spark some political talk.
With “La La Land” up for seven awards, the musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone is in the lead for motion pictures. Following “La La Land” is the coming-of-age drama, “Moonlight”, which is in the running for six awards.
This may also be Netflix’s year, with both “Stranger Things” and “The Crown” up for grabs. The FX Original, “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story leads the TV category with five nominations. While this FX series is up for a number of awards tonight, HBO as a whole is nominated for more, thanks to “Game of Thrones”, “Westworld”, and “The Night Of”.
The race for best comedic actress on a television series will include Sarah Jessica Parker for her role on HBO’s “Divorce”, Issa Rae in “Insecure”, Julia Louis-Dreyfus from “Veep”, Tracee Ellis Ross in “black-ish” and Rachel Bloom from “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”.
