Daft Punk fuels rumors of a 2017 tour after new video emerges.
The rumor mill continues to spin as further rumors suggest Daft Punk is indeed preparing to tour in 2017. As other news outlets including FACT and Okayplayer have reported, a new video has emerged on YouTube that has fueled the discussion surrounding the French duo. Entitled simply “ALIVE 2017”, the 52-second video features only the words “Alive” in Daft Punk’s signature robotic voice as neon lights create a polygonal figure. While it’s difficult to say for certain, the video appears to reference the Alive 1997 and Alive 2007 live projects from the pair.
As we previously wrote, considering Daft Punk’s touring pattern is once every decade, 2017 does match up quite nicely. Daft Punk has yet to comment or release anything tied to the claims. In the mean time, stay tuned to Verge Campus as further information develops and is released.
