Carrie Fisher, known most greatly for her role as Princess Leia in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, has passed away at the age of 60 years old. Fisher had recently suffered a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles and was in the hospital under ‘stable condition.’
According to People, the spokesman for the Fisher family, Simon Halls, released a statement to the press on account of Fishers daughter, Billie Lourd.
“It is with very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
