Spire and Fawna’s “Reverie” puts you in an enchanting daydream filled with mythical figures transcending worlds.
“Reverie” is an introspective and delicate alternative R&B track showcasing the maturity of Spire’s production sensibilities as its tasteful blend of neo-soul, modern sound design, and unique Asian zither produces a global appeal. The single has seen extraordinary success. Since its release, its climbed the Hype Machine charts as well as reaching #21 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart.
The video is the first visual from the Soda Island collective’s album, A Trip to Soda Island. The single comes from Spire, the 18 year old Australian producer and collective co-founder. The Soda Island is an online collective consisting of seven producers from across the world:
- Ramzoid (Canada)
- Spire (Western Australia)
- Izzard (Pennsylvania)
- RefraQ (UK)
- Avionics (Germany)
- Arian Cook (Western Australia)
- Grynpyret (Sweden)
Although the Soda Island have never met face to face, the collective has already racked up over 3.5 million SoundCloud plays. They have even received support from tastemakers such as Nest HQ, Mr. Suicide Sheep, Majestic Casual, Indie Shuffle, and Inspector Dubplate.
Fawna, the multi-talented, Montreal based R&B/soul singer is not only featured on the track, but also co-wrote it (along with Spire) as well as directed, edited, and starred in the video. Since attending Montreal’s Concordia University for their Intermedia/Cyberarts program, Fawna has been hard at work balancing a full time job as a videographer, working on her forthcoming EP, and playing shows at Canada’s Evolve and Future Forest festivals.
